Focused HR Review

Focused HR Review

You may already know where you want to focus. Perhaps something isn’t working as well as it should, or you simply want an independent view before deciding what to do next.

The Focused HR Review could be right for you if you want to:

  • Understand how effectively a specific area of HR is working
  • Identify what’s working well and what could be improved
  • Uncover gaps, risks or issues that may need attention
  • Get an independent perspective on your current approach
  • Know what actions to prioritise next

You choose the area. We take a deeper look and give you a clear view of what to do next.

You choose the area of HR you want us to focus on. We take a deeper look at how it is currently working, identify what’s working well, where there may be gaps or risks and what could be improved.

Your review could focus on areas such as:

  • Recruitment & resourcing
  • Onboarding
  • HR operations & processes
  • Employee relations
  • Attendance & wellbeing
  • Performance management
  • Learning & development
  • Engagement & employee voice
  • Reward & recognition
  • People data & reporting

Have something else in mind? Talk to us about the area you would like reviewed and we’ll confirm whether it is suitable for a Focused HR Review.

The scope of your review is agreed with you at the outset so we are clear about what we’re reviewing and what you want to get from it.

Your PeopleCore Focused HR Review Report will give you a clear, independent view of the area you have chosen to review and what you can do to improve it.

Your report will show:

  • What’s working well – strengths and effective practices to build on
  • What needs attention – areas where improvement may be needed
  • Key gaps and risks – issues that may require attention or action
  • Prioritised recommendations – clear recommendations based on what matters most
  • Practical actions – helping you understand what to tackle next and in what order

Your findings session
Your Focused HR Review also includes a 60-minute findings and recommendations session with PeopleCore to talk through your results, answer your questions and discuss the most important priorities.

We keep the process focused on the area you want to understand and improve.

  1. Tell us what you want to review
Complete a short information form telling us about your organisation, the area you want reviewed and what you would like to understand.
  2. Send us the agreed information
We’ll confirm the key documents and relevant information or data needed for your review.
  3. We review and assess
PeopleCore takes a deeper look at the agreed area, considering the information provided and how things currently work in practice.
  4. We speak with key stakeholders
Where relevant, we hold structured discussions with agreed key stakeholders to add context and insight to our review.
  5. We prepare your Focused HR Review
We bring everything together into your PeopleCore Focused HR Review Report, with findings, prioritised recommendations and practical actions.
  6. We talk you through the findings
We meet for your 60-minute findings and recommendations session to discuss the results, answer questions and focus on your priorities.

How long does it take?
Your Focused HR Review will typically be completed within 10–15 working days, depending on the scope and complexity of the review. We’ll confirm the timetable with you before we begin.

Tell us the HR area you would like reviewed and a little about your organisation. We’ll help you determine the right scope for your Focused HR Review.

Not sure whether your issue needs a Focused HR Review or a full HR Health Check
We’ll help you determine the right option based on what you want to understand and the scope of review required.

The Focused HR Review is an independent diagnostic and recommendations service focused on one agreed area of HR.

It does not include implementing the recommendations, rewriting policies or processes, or providing ongoing HR support.

If, during the review, we identify issues that sit outside the agreed area, we’ll highlight these where relevant, but they will not form part of the detailed review.

What happens next is up to you. You can take the recommendations and practical actions forward yourself or ask PeopleCore to support you with specific priorities identified through the review. There is no obligation to purchase further support.
