Do your people priorities clearly support your business priorities?
You may have a clear business strategy, but translating it into what your organisation needs from its people can be harder.
Create Your People Strategy could be right for you if you want to:
- Connect your people priorities directly to your business goals
- Get clarity on the workforce, skills and capabilities your organisation needs
- Identify the people priorities that will have the greatest impact
- Bring greater focus to areas such as leadership, culture, talent, engagement and ways of working
- Give leaders and your People team a shared direction
- Move from a collection of HR activities to a clear, joined-up People Strategy
Your People Strategy shouldn’t sit alongside your business strategy. It should help you deliver it.
What does creating your People Strategy involve?
We work with you to understand your organisation, where it is going and what this means for your people priorities.
Together, we explore areas such as:
- Your business strategy, goals and priorities
- Your current workforce and future people needs
- Skills and capabilities needed for the future
- Leadership and management
- Culture and ways of working
- Talent, development and succession
- Employee engagement and experience
- Recruitment and retention
- Organisation design and effectiveness
- People data and measures of success
We use these insights to identify and prioritise the people priorities that will make the greatest contribution to delivering your organisation’s ambitions.
The process is shaped around your organisation, not an off-the-shelf People Strategy.
What will you receive?
You’ll receive a PeopleCore People Strategy that clearly connects your organisation’s business priorities with its people priorities.
The People Strategy will include:
- Strategic people priorities – the areas that matter most to delivering your organisation’s goals
- Clear objectives – what you want to achieve under each priority
- Key actions and initiatives – what needs to happen to turn the strategy into action
- Strategic measures – how you will track progress and understand whether your People Strategy is making a difference
- Implementation roadmap – setting out the priority actions, sequencing and suggested measures of success
Your strategy will be designed for a 3- or 5-year horizon, depending on what is right for your organisation.
How does it work?
We work with you throughout the process so your People Strategy reflects your organisation, its ambitions and what it needs from its people.
- We understand your organisation
We start by understanding your business strategy, priorities, context and what you want your People Strategy to achieve. - We gather insight
We review relevant information and speak with agreed key stakeholders to understand your current position, future needs and key people opportunities and challenges. - We explore the priorities together
We facilitate a focused strategy session with key stakeholders to explore what matters most, bring different perspectives together and identify the people priorities that will support your organisation’s ambitions. - We develop your People Strategy
PeopleCore brings the insights together and develops your draft 3- or 5-year People Strategy, including strategic priorities, objectives, key actions and measures of success. - We refine it with you
We test the draft strategy with you and agreed stakeholders, gather feedback and refine it so it reflects your organisation and provides a clear direction for your people agenda. - We create your implementation roadmap
We translate the strategy into a practical implementation roadmap, setting out the priority actions, sequencing and suggested measures of success to help you begin putting it into practice. - We present your People Strategy
We present your final People Strategy and implementation roadmap, giving you the opportunity to discuss the priorities, roadmap and what happens next.
How long does it take?
Creating your People Strategy typically takes 3–6 weeks, depending on the complexity of your organisation, the level of stakeholder involvement and the scope agreed with you at the outset.
Let’s scope your People Strategy
Every organisation is different, so we’ll start with a complimentary conversation to understand what you need and the scope of the work.
During your scoping call, we’ll discuss:
- Your organisation and business priorities
- What is driving the need for a People Strategy
- Whether you are looking for a 3- or 5-year strategy
- The stakeholders, strategy sessions and level of involvement needed
- What you already have in place
- Your preferred timeframe
Following the conversation, where there is enough information, we’ll provide a clear proposal setting out the recommended approach, scope, timeframe and cost. Where the requirement is more complex, we’ll confirm any further scoping needed before preparing your proposal.

Your final price will depend on the scope and complexity of the work and will be confirmed before the project begins.
Good to know
The People Strategy will be developed specifically for your organisation, based on the scope and level of stakeholder engagement agreed with you at the outset.
The work includes the development of your People Strategy and implementation roadmap. It does not include implementation, detailed design of individual initiatives, ongoing programme management or ongoing HR support unless separately agreed.
Your People Strategy is designed to give you a clear direction while allowing your organisation to respond as priorities and circumstances change.
What happens next is up to you. You can take the strategy forward with your own team or ask PeopleCore to support you with specific priorities or areas of implementation. There is no obligation to purchase further support.
